16-18 November – ISTC organized, with the support of the BioIndustry Initiative (US), the international workshop Innovations in Zooanthropomorphic and Metabolic Disease: Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment in the Saratov Region in Saratov, Russia. The workshop brought together prominent scientists in bacterial and metabolic diseasesas well as companies and venture business representatives from Russia and the USA.
The event has proven to be innovative by analyzing medical, biological and veterinary data and their interaction. Participants from the US and Europe presented the most promising biotech areas of scientific results for commercialization. The workshop was a good occasion to further the integration of scientists from Saratov region into the world scientific and business communities.

The 46th Meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) was held on November 16-17, 2009
During this meeting SAC members evaluated and ranked 64 project proposals, which have been proposed for funding to the Governing Board on its 50th meeting in Moscow. On November 17 a technical visit to the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), located in Dubna Moscow region, was organized.
The 47th meeting of the SAC is scheduled for May 31- June 1, 2010, to be held in Stockholm, Sweden.
