US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton Congratulates ISTC on its Achievements

I am very pleased to send a special greeting on the 15th Anniversary of the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) in Moscow. I would especially like to congratulate and thank the ISTC's Secretariat for organizing this signal event and the Russian Federation for hosting it in its dynamic capital.As we look back at the cooperation the ISTC has fostered over the past fifteen years, I commend the Center, and those who have supported it, for its accomplishments: over twenty six hundred research projects that have engaged more than ninety thousand scientists. On 10 December 2009, the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) held its 15 Year Anniversary Conference, ISTC – The Way Forward. Many senior political and science representatives from around the world, including Ambassadors and Heads of leading CIS research institutes took part in the event attended by over 300 people at a venue in Moscow.
In a Statement from US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, read during the conference by US Ambassador John Beyrle, Secretary Clinton stated: ‘As we look back at the cooperation the ISTC has fostered over the past fifteen years, I commend the Center, and those who have supported it, for its accomplishments’.
In a video address to the Conference, European Commissioner Janez Potocnik said: “the European Commission is particularly proud to have been one of those founders and partners (of ISTC). It is why we have funded ISTC supported research for the sake of nonproliferation. And it is why we remain committed to the ISTC.” More

In a letter published by the newspaper “Rossiiskaya Gazeta”, Viktor Glukhikh claims that there is a key role for ISTC to play in the transformation of the Russian economy.. More

Discovering New Generation of Biopesticides
After over 6 years of research, project # 2338, Studies and Evaluation of Entomopathogenic Fungi as Bio Pesticides Producers, came to completion. The project funded by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) was successful as it gathered the biggest collection in Russia and the CIS of entomopathogenic fungi, with over 1200 different strains, opening up possibilities of creating novel drugs and bio pesticides. More
