Issyk-Kul Summer School on Radiation Physics, New Materials and Information Technologies (SCORPh-2008), Edelweiss resort, Issyk-Kul Oblast, Kyrgyz Republic, 28 July- 03 August

This meeting was organized by the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic in cooperation with ISTC. More than 70 scientists and students from the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Germany and the Netherlands attended the event. During the five days of the Summer School, 13 lectures and 29 student presentations were given.

The traditional Summer School on radiation physics in Kyrgyzstan enjoys wide international recognition. It is a rendez-vous for internationally known scientists and young researchers from different regions of the world.

The aim of this event is to bring together experts, researchers, students and postdoctoral fellows from both industry and research organizations, to focus on topics such as: New luminescent materials and equipment for radiation monitoring, computer simulation in applied physics, practical applications of information technologies, novelty in science and technologies.

The Summer School accents not only discussing the problems of science, but also establishing creative contacts leading to research projects to be submitted to international scientific organizations such as ISTC, NATO, TACIS and others.
