Welcome,

I would like to invite you to read the new ISTC e-Newsletter. I trust it will provide the information you are looking for. You will find information about our projects, activities or support programs that matter (read the text on the significant raise of the grants allocated to our beneficiary scientists), or our involvement in the building of the particle accelerator ‘Large Hadron Collider’ (CERN), one of the most ambitious scientific projects ever.

Our business partners will find information about our technologies or projects that have good market potential. Each quarter, R&D Project Proposals are submitted to ISTC for funding. Partners can consult the brief technical descriptions in the section “Projects Seeking Funding”. Commercialization opportunities are highlighted in this newsletter.More...

Reduce your Car’s CO Emissions by 2500%

Between 14 September and 26 September, Russians might have seen a hydrogen/natural gas “Gazel” minivan driving around without even noticing it. This minivan, using state-of-the-art technology, recently participated in a rally along with 15 other vehicles using natural gas. The vehicles completed a 1000 km route on the roads from Veliki-Novgorod to Saint Petersburg, Tver and finally Moscow, to name a few. The promising technology, sparked by an ISTC initiative and propelled by Russian know-how, proposes a cheap and easy-to-install device that can make every car engine more efficient and clean.

Scientists and engineers from the Russian Federal Nuclear Center, VNIIEF, Sarov City, together with the Institute of Catalysis SB RAS and OOO “Gasmotor – Complect” created a new, cleaner technology that purifies exhaust fumes to reach a EURO 4 level without using an expensive and unstable catalyst. Moreover, it permits the car to save up to 20% in fuel consumption in urban driving environments. This technology is based on principles that have long been known.Replacing a small amount of the main fuel (whether petrol, propane, or natural gas) by hydrogen leads to substantial chemical changes making the combustion more efficient and stable.More…

NineSigma and ISTC: Partners in Global Open Innovation
‘Open Innovation’ is a relatively new trend changing the way companies do research and innovation development. The principle is simple: in today’s world where good ideas can come from almost anywhere and organizations need a constant flow of innovations to stay effective and competitive, it is becoming essential for a growing number of companies to carry out R&D, buy or license inventions (i.e. patents) outside of their own walls.More…
